2023 Welsh Inter-Schools & Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships

The Combined Welsh Inter-Schools / Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships will head to Park Dolerw in Newtown on Saturday 18 November.
Athletes will compete individually and in a team for their respective Welsh regions in the Inter-Regional Championship. Whilst junior athletes will also compete for their schools in the Inter-Schools Championship and not school districts.
Senior Races
Hoping to make it three consecutive wins in a row is Lauren Cooper (East Wales), Cooper claimed the Senior Women’s title last year, completing the course in 23:31. Earlier this year, Cooper took the Welsh 10k Road title, and will be looking for further success on Saturday.
Alaw Evans (West Wales) will be joining reigning Champion Lauren Cooper in the senior women’s race. Evans took victory at the Cardiff 10k in September and the Eryri Marathon three weeks ago.
There is a strong line up in the senior men’s race with Adam Bull and Jacob Tasker lining up for South Wales. They will be joined by Josh Griffiths (West Wales) and both Tom Wood and Rhodri Owen of North Wales.
Junior Races
U17 & U20 Races
Notable names to look out for in the U17 & U20 race include Neisha Roberts (North Wales U20), Mai Davies (West Wales U20), Jacob Welsh (North Wales U17) & Dion Griffiths (North Wales U20).
U15 Races
The U15 races boast a competitive field featuring U15 1500m Welsh Record holder and 2022 Inter-Regional Champion, Libby Hale (West Wales). Joining Hale is 2022 U13 Champion Bryony Boyce (South Wales) who will be stepping up an age group.
Both 2022 Inter-Schools Champions Madison Hughes (North Wales) and Lucas Salvage (East, St Julians) will be returning in the hopes of retaining their titles.
