2022 Mini Marathon Team Announcement

Over the years, the London Mini Marathon has been a stepping stone for some of the countries greatest athletes.
This year will be no different, and the 2022 TCS Mini London Marathon championships, which is to be held before the London Marathon on October 2nd, will be a brilliant chance for young athletes to compete among the best new talent in British road racing.
In order to qualify for the event, athletes have been selected based on their current form in the 2022 Track and Field season and during licensed road races. The team includes the 2022 U15 3,000m champion Millie Gold (Cardiff) will be heading to London full of confidence after finishing 4th in this years SIAB 3000m. She will be joined by Libby Hale (Swansea) who is the current Welsh U15 800m and 1500m champion, as well as the Welsh 1,500m record holder.
With a personal best of 4:48 and 10:32 for the 1,500m and 3,000m respectively, Mabli Phillips (Cardiff) will be heading to London to compete in the Mini Marathon for the second time after competing there last year.
Beca Bown (Menai) will be looking to build on her fantastic form, and the Welsh 800m, 1,500m, cross country and mountain running champion from 2021 will be heading to London with high confidence. Maddie Griffiths (Maldwyn), the 2022 Welsh mountain running champion, will be hoping her strength will give her the edge over the 2.6km event.
U15 Welsh 3,000m Miguel Jenkins (Menai) is also heading to London, whilst Welsh Schools 1,500m champion and 16:21 5k runner Joshua Sanders (Cardiff) will also be heading across to London.
Welsh junior mountain running champion Finley Bruce (Carmarthen) will be hoping that his strength combined with his 9:01 3,000m personal best will stand him in good stead over the 2.6km distance. He will be joined by the 2022 Welsh 1,500m and 800m champion Jack Organ (Brecon), who also finished third at the SIAB Schools International.
