Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon - Sunday 7th October

The Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday also incorporated the Welsh Half Marathon Championships. Swansea Harrier Dewi Griffiths (1:02:56) was crowned Welsh Champion in the men's race, ahead of his Swansea teammates Kris Jones (1:03:55) and Josh Griffiths (1:05:07). In the women's race Clara Evans (Cardiff AAC; 1:14:15) took the Welsh crown ahead of Rosie Edwards (Rotherham; 1:15:25) and Jenny Nesbitt (Worcester; 1:16:14).

ERRA 6 Stage & 4 Stage Road Relays - Sutton Park, Birmingham - Saturday 6th October  

Cardiff AAC and Swansea Harriers both sent teams to the ERRA National 6 Stage & 4 Stage Road Relays in Birmingham on Saturday. Swansea's women finished 6th in the 4 Stage Relay Championship with the quartet of Isobel Parry Jones, Kate Roberts, Sian Edwards and Verity Ockenden. Meanwhile, Leeds' Stevie Stockton clocked the second fastest time on the first leg of the day with 14:17.

In the men's race, Swansea finished 21st with Marc Hobbs (17:49) clocking their fastest leg of the day whilst Cardiff finished in 33rd lace with Jake Heyward finishing second on leg 1 with a time of 17:12. 

Bank of America Chicago Marathon - Sunday 7th October

Swansea's Matthew Richards clocked a new lifetime best at the Chicago Marathon with a time of 2:31:20, whilst there were also lifetime best clockings for Simon Lewis (Pontypridd Roadents; 2:41:58) and Steffan Sayer (Menai; 2:42:46).
