British & Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships - Saturday 8th September - Glendalough, Ireland
There was more individual gold medal success for Wales at the British & Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships at Glendalough, Ireland on Saturday. Menai's Samia Jones (Stephen Livett) produced an excellent run to win the U17 women's title, whilst Wales also won three team bronze medals in the u17 women, u17 men and u20 women's events.

New York Fifth Avenue Mile - Sunday 9th September - New York, USA
Melissa Courtney (Poole AC; Rob Denmark) produced another fantastic performance as she finished 3rd on the roads of New York in the famous Fifth Avenue Mile on Sunday morning. Melissa clocked a blistering time of 4:20.2 to finish just two seconds behind former World 1,500m Champion Jenny Simpson, and beat the likes of World Steeplechase Champion Emma Coburn. The performance capped off an excellent season for Melissa, who won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games back in April, and finished 5th at the European Championships last month.
Jungfrau Marathon - Saturday 8th September - Jungfrau, Switzerland
Andrew Davies (Stockport; Steve Vernon) finished second at the Jungfrau Marathon in Switzerland on Saturday afternoon. Unlike many traditional marathon races, the Jungfrau Marathon consists of 1,829 metres of climbing across the three Swiss peaks - the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. Andrew finished second behind fellow Brit Robbie Simpson in a brilliant time of 3:01:37.
