Nation Radio Cardiff 10k - Sunday 2nd September
Dewi Griffiths (Swansea Harriers) and Lily Partridge (Aldershot, Farnham & District) took victory at the Nation Radio Cardiff 10k on Sunday morning on a near-perfect day for racing in the welsh capital.
Griffiths stormed through 5k in a time of 14:14, and managed to hold his lead into the finish where he crossed the line in 29:10, nine seconds ahead of Cardiff's Matt Clowes who ran a new personal best of 29:19, whilst Cardiff Met athlete Jake Smith also produced an excellent run to finish third in a big personal best of 29:31. Partridge dominated the women's race from the gun, crossing the line in a winning time of 33:27, ahead of second placed Rachel Felton (Shaftesbury Barnet) who ran 34:52, whilst Natasha Cockram (MMRT) finished in third with a personal best of 35:12.
Caernarfon 10k - Sunday 2nd September
Gwyn Owen (Eryri Harriers) and Catherine Connell (Eryri Harriers) took victory at the Caernarfon 10k on Sunday morning. Owen took victory in the men's race in a time of 33:51, ahead of second placed Andy Bromley (Prestatyn RC; 34:14) and third placed Martin Green (North Wales RR; 34:25). In the women's race, Connell took victory with a time of 40:16 ahead of second placed Rachel Shipley (Abergele Harriers; 42:49) and third placed Carla Green (NWRRC; 42:55).
Memphis Twilight XC Classic - Tennessee, USA - Saturday 1st September
Cardiff athletes Ffion Price and Bethan Evans kicked off their cross-country seasons over the weekend as they raced at the Memphis Twilight XC Classic. Ffion took victory in the 5k race with a time of 17:24, whilst Bethan finished 28th in 19:06.
UNM Lobo Cross-Country Invitational - New Mexico, USA - Saturday 1st September
Iolo Hughes (Sale Harriers) opened up his cross-country season with a 5th placed finish at the UNM Lobo Cross-Country Invitational in Albuquerque in a time of 15:38
Florida Atlantic University Collegiate Cross-Country Invitational - Florida, USA - Saturday 1st September
Colwyn Bay's Michael Parry finished 43rd at the Florida Atlantic University Collegiate Cross-Country Invitational in his first cross-country race of the season, as he ran 17:08 for the 5k course.
