There was more medal joy for Welsh athletes on Day 2 of the World Para Athletics European Championships in Berlin, as Sabrina Fortune (Deeside AAC; Ian Robinson) took gold in the Women's F20 Shot Put Final. Sabrina's winning final round throw of 13.30m set a new Championship Record and secured her the 2018 European Championship crown.
The Deeside athlete finished 4th at the Championships back in 2016, but stamped her authority on this year's competition with the three longest throws - the only athlete to go over 13m (13.06m, 13.18m and 13.30m).
Meanwhile, in the morning session of Day 3, Rhys Jones (DSW Para Academy; Christian Malcolm) finished 2nd in Heat 2 of the Men's T37 200m in a season's best time of 24.52 seconds - qualifying the DSW Para Academy athlete for Wednesday evening's Final at 5:59 p.m.
