Weekend round up 30.05.2017

IFAM Outdoor, Oordegem-Lede, BEL

Sam Gordon (Cardiff AAC) clocked 10.37 in the men’s 100m ‘A’ race to finish 2nd. Anax Da Silva (Cardiff AAC) pulled a PB out of the bag in the men’s ‘B’ race clocking 10.41.

In the 400m, Owen Smith (Cardiff AAC) finished 2nd in the men’s ‘A’ race in a seasons best time of 46.93.

Tom Marshall (Cardiff AAC) claimed a Commonwealth Games ‘B’ standard in the 1500m race in a time of 3.39.27. In the C race, Rowan Axe (Cardiff AAC) ran a PB of 3.42.88 to finish 6th with Jonathan Tobin finishing 12th in a time of 3.45.66. Jake Heyward (Cardiff AAC) ran a PB of 3.46.27 in the D race to finish 2nd.

Finishing in 4th place in the women’s 1500m A race, Melissa Courtney (Shaftesbury Barnet) ran a season’s best time of 4.08.42 – adding a Commonwealth ‘B’ standard to her name alongside her ‘A’ standard achieved in the 5000m earlier this month.

Both Ieuan Thomas (Cardiff AAC) and Jonathan Hopkins (Swansea) smashed the Commonwealth ‘A’ standard in the 3000m S/C in 8.33.59 and 8.34.03 respectively.

Newham Network Open Series

Joe Brier (Swansea) finished 2nd in the 400m with a seasons best time of 47.84. His Sister Hannah finished 4th in her 100m race.

BCM, Sportcity Grand Prix

In the 1500m A race finishing 4th and 5th respectively were Guy Smith (Swansea) in 3.48.02 and Kyran Rothers (Carmarthen) in 3.48.21.

Cari Hughes (Menai Track & Field) finished 8th in the women’s 1500m ‘A’ race in a time of 4.24.92.

BIGish Jumps & Throws Fest, Bedford

In the discus, Gareth Winter (Sheffield & Dearne) finished 1st with a 16.90 throw.

England Athletics U20 / Senior Combined Events Championships & Open U18 & IPC Events, Bedford

T12 / F12 athlete James Ledger (Swansea) finished 3rd in the 100m ‘A’ race in a time of 11.95. Morgan Jones (DSW Para Academy) finished 4th with a PB of 12.00, with Rhys Jones (DSW Para Academy) coming in in 6th place. In the ‘B’ race, Jordan Howe (DSW Para Academy) claimed a PB to win the race in 12.54.

Curtis Mathews (Cardiff AAC) came home with a 6th place finish in the Decathlon with a total of 6,736.

Cardiff AAC’s James hunt finished 23rd with a PB of 30:54
