It has been announced that the Cardiff Cross Challenge will start the 2017 / 2018 British Athletics Cross Challenge Series following a move to a new October date.
The Gwent League are pleased to confirm their first fixture in the forthcoming season will be held jointly with the Cardiff Cross Challenge on Saturday 14th October in Llandaff Fields, Cardiff.

The new venue will offer a change of scenery for the Cardiff Cross Challenge which has been held in Bute Park for nearly two decades.
In that time it has welcomed many, if not most if the top British endurance runners including a large number of British Champions such as Frank Tickner, Peter Riley, Andy Vernon, Louise Damen and Dewi Griffiths.

The event has also hosted several European Cross Country Champions including; Hayley Yelling, Charlotte Purdue and Gemma Steel.
The start of the Cross Country season is always long anticipated and this fixture will offer Wales a chance to witness the start to the domestic Cross Country season in what will be an exciting 12 month period for Athletics in Wales.
Wales’ best will be in action here, just months before completing their preparations for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
