It was another successful Open Javelin Coaching Session, hosted by the Welsh Javelin Group in Swansea last Saturday, 2nd February as a total of 8 athletes and 3 coaches attended, despite the clash with Welsh Junior Indoor Championships.
The Open Coaching Sessions provide a unique and insightful experience for young athletes and coaches interested in learning more about the fundamentals of the Javelin event. Welsh Javelin Group coaches Nevel Clarke and John Davies, assisted by Richard Tidball, provide a structured coaching session that allows both athletes and coaches to understand the key principles of athletics, before getting into the specifics of Javelin throwing with practical demonstrations from Welsh champion throwers Nathan James and Bethany Moule.
Speaking about the most recent Open Javelin Coaching Session, Richard Tidball commented "It's great to see progress being made with a number of the young athletes who've attended these coaching sessions, and the feedback we're able to provide during our video analysis at the end of each session is really valuable"
We went along to the opening coaching session of the 2018/19 winter season in Swansea last October and you can click here for a detailed report on the day's events.
The next Open Javelin Coaching Session will take place on Saturday, 23rd February with limited spaces remaining, and athletes or coaches wishing to attend should contact Richard Tidball
