Sunday saw the first indoor Cardiff Met Grand Prix of the season at NIAC with a selection of track and field events on offer. Full results are available here.
A few highlights: Makoye Kampengele [Cardiff AAC] was the fastest of the Welsh over 60m in a new lifetime best of 6.95, Melissa Roberts ran 7.59 to win the Women’s 60m final, a 13.15 3000m walk by Bethan Davies [Cardiff AAC], Steffan Dylan-Jones [Swansea] clocked 36.57 & Lana Culliford[Cardiff AAC] 41.64 for 300m, and some competitive 3000m races:
- Jake Smith [Cardiff Met] ran 8.06. in the fastest race of the day won by Piers Copeland in under 8 minutes.
- Huw Evans V45 [Les Croupiers] continued his return to fitness, holding off Peter Ryder [Aberdare AC] to win their race in 9.33.
- Osian Perrin U17 [Menai] ran a personal best 8.48.8
- Lauren Cooper [Parc Bryn Bach] dipped under ten minutes running 9.57.7
At the Sale Harriers Open indoor event at Sport City, Moli Jones U20 [Colwyn Bay] ran 7.77 to win her 60m race, Evan Williams U17 [Wrexham] ran 7.27 and Oliver Owen U17 [Deeside AAC] won his 60m in 7.66, both PBs.
At the off road, and probably very muddy, Cottrell Park Christmas Cracker there were wins for Alaw Beynon Thomas [Swansea Harriers] & Luke Williams [San Domenico].
The Pontardawe 5k was won by Craig Jones [Swansea Harriers] & Amy Evans [Pontardawe]
