Together we can make sport everyone's game
Welsh Athletics are proud to be supporting Stonewall's Rainbow Laces Campaign 2018. The campaign period for 2018 will commence on the 17th of November and will run until the 7th of December, and promotes eqaulity and inclusion in sport with the aim of increasing the support for LGBT people in sport.
For this year’s campaign, Stonewall is challenging fans and athletes to be ‘active allies’ and to play their part in ensuring LGBT people feel included in sport.
The charity has released a set of top tips on what people can do to promote LGBT equality, including how to identify abusive language, how to effectively challenge abuse and how to report, both on and off the pitch.
There are so many ways you can become a better ally to LGBT people. We are encouraging athletes, parents, volunteers and coaches within the athletics community to lace up in time for Rainbow Laces Day on the 28 of November, tweet your picture with the #RainbowLaces or make sure to read and share Stonewall's top tips to make sport more inclusive!
