Malcolm wins Coach of the Year Award

Christian Malcolm ended an action packed year by claiming the honour of Coach of Year at the Annual BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards in Liverpool.

Christian, along with British Athletics coaches Stephen Maguire and Benke Blomkvist were honoured for their work with the British Athletics relay teams that captured 4 medals, including 4x100m Men’s Gold at this Summer’s World Athletics Championships in London. The trio defeated a stellar list of nominees, and follow in the footsteps of previous winners Warren Gatland, Jose Mourinho and Sir Clive Woodward to name just a few.

2017 has been a truly memorable year for Christian, who also won the Coach of the year award at the Sport Wales award ceremony earlier this month. As well as his relay work, Christian has also seen several of his athletes make Major Championships, with the likes of Rhys Jones & Jordon Howe competing at this Summer’s World Para Championships in London.

Already a non-Exec Director of Welsh Athletics, Christian also joined the Board of Sport Wales earlier this year, and has continued to build his Athletics Academy based in Newport.
