Welsh Team Announced Ahead of Manchester International

After a 2017 track and field season that has seemed to fly by, Welsh athletes will be pulling their vests on for the last International of the year when they compete at the Manchester International on Wednesday 16th August. The team will primarily be composed of athletes who gained automatic selection after winning the Welsh Championships with an International selection standard back in June. The team includes first time Welsh representatives Melanie Wilkins (3k steeplechase) and Clare Maurer (pole vault), alongside Commonwealth Games athletes Ben Gregory, Brett Morse, Curtis Matthews, Mica Moore and Gareth Winter. David Omoregie will be a welcome addition to the men’s 4 x 100m squad, as they look to run the Commonwealth Games nomination time of 39.25 seconds.

The match sees teams from England, GB U20, Northern Ireland and Ulster, Scotland, Denmark, and a combined UKWL/BAL team compete throughout an evening program.
