Multiple Welsh Champion and recent British record holder Bethan Davies was in attendance at Cardiff Parkrun on Saturday morning as part of the #teamparkrun campaign. The Cardiff AAC Race Walker was a special guest and had the honour of starting the event which starts at 9am every Saturday morning on the Taff Trail. The #teamparkrun campaign was set up by UK sport & Parkrun with the aim of getting as many people involved at their local parkrun by using recent Great Britain international athletes as special guests.
Bethan spoke to us about her experience:
“I had a great time starting and then race walking Cardiff park run Saturday. It was fantastic to see so many people getting active! Everyone is so welcoming and supportive. It was lovely to have so many people interested in my progress and even more lovely to hear about other peoples”.
Run Director Phil Cook added this:
“Bethan came along and was our Guest Starter, when all the parkrunner's had started she set off and finished with a group around the 27:00 mark. Afterwards she had some photos taken with several of the parkrunner's.”
“We were happy to see her come along and join in, and she is more than welcome to come along and join us anytime.”
