The organisers of the JCP Swansea Half Marathon, Front Runner Events, have announced that early bird entries will shortly be closing for the award-winning event which takes place on Sunday 24th June 2018.
Places for the race that officially became the UK’s best half marathon, as voted at The Running Awards 2017, are currently only £28 (affiliated) or £30 (non-affiliated). With prices set to increase on 1st September, now is the perfect time to secure the lowest price for this flat and fast course on Wales’ beautiful south coast and have a superb race to look forward to next summer.
The JCP Swansea Half Marathon has become a favourite among the running community and earnt itself a reputation as one of the UK’s must-do half marathons. It takes runners on fully closed roads #FromTheCityToTheSea, past Swansea Castle and along a magnificent six-mile stretch of Swansea Bay towards The Mumbles, with its iconic pier and lighthouse.
The race will be celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2018 and is looking forward to attracting plenty of first-time runners as well as elite athletes from all over the world. The 2017 event saw a record of 43 nationalities represented at the race, many of whom were attracted to Wales’ second largest half marathon for the spectacular scenery, promise of a fast time and outstanding crowd support. Thousands of runners reported breaking their PB and it was a day of incredible sporting achievement alongside substantial charity fundraising.
Runners at the 2018 event can once more look forward to pacing their race to perfection thanks to a team of race pacers provided by Xempo Race Pacing, as well as the great line up of entertainment on route to help motivate runners all the way to the finish line.

Runners have until midnight on 31st August to benefit from our early bird discount, after which the entry fee will increase. The JCP Swansea Half Marathon has been getting bigger and better, year on year, and being voted the UK’s best marathon earlier this year is proof that we are delivering what runners want – a professionally organised race in a magnificent location with amazing spectator support. We are very much looking forward to welcoming runners of all abilities from near and far to Swansea next summer.”
The 2017 men’s title was claimed by third-time winner Dewi Griffiths, who broke the course record in a time of 64:48. The women’s title was claimed by Claire Gibbons-McCarthy in a time of 74:34.
