With Mental Health Awareness Week taking place this week, Run4All Neath have been one of the clubs at the forefront of raising the profile of Mental Health Awareness in recent months. The club have hosted many Mental Health Wellbeing seminars in 2018 with a variety of focuses surrounding the importance and awareness of mental health wellbeing.
Back in February, the club organised an interactive ‘Mood and Food’ seminar, working closely with NPT Mind - a local mental health charity that helps provide advice and support to anyone experiencing mental health problems. Following that, the club organised another seminar in March focusing on turning negative thoughts into positive ones using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and in April they focused on anxiety management and ways to manage personal anxiety – again working closely with guest speakers from NPT Mind.
Run4All Neath are a friendly club with over 300 members that suit runners of all abilities, whether you are an experienced athlete or a complete novice, you'll find a warm welcome, excellent support and plenty of encouragement. The best place to experience the club, meet the coaches and friendly runners is to go along to one of their track sessions on a Monday evening, but the club also hold regular group runs on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
Welsh Athletics are pleased to support the brilliant work being done by Run4All Neath around Mental Health Awareness and are keen to support other projects surrounding mental health.
