Run Wales is the new social running programme from Welsh Athletics. Its main aim is to support people to take their first steps in walking, jogging and running activities. Run Wales wants to offer all the people of Wales the opportunity to run, and to run more often catering for beginners and social runners who have put a few more miles under their shoelaces alike.
What inspires us to run, or to start running, is very different depending on who you ask! Some of us do it to lose weight, some of us to stay sane, some to keep passably fit or, in some cases, to enter and maybe even win races. But whatever the motivation for lacing up your trainers and hitting the roads and trails, there's compelling reasons why being a member of a group can help make jogging or running an even better experience.
Running in a group will not only instigate big improvements in performance but, more importantly, it can provide enduring memories, experiences and companionship.
So regardless of your age, fitness level, aspiration, background, or location you can all be a part of the Run Wales group and benefit from being involved in Wales’ largest social running movement. We are here to help and encourage more people to run together in a safe and friendly environment. You don’t have to be ‘in shape’ to take your first jog, we are here to help you no matter what your level of ability and welcome everyone to be part of the running community in Wales.
