Definition of Age Groups
U13 Boys + U13 Girls – Must be born on or between 01.09.05 to 31.08.07 – School Years 6 + 7 – Maximum number of events = 3 (U13 cannot compete in 800m and 1500m on the same day)

U15 Boys + U15 Girls – Must be born on or between 01.09.03 to 31.08.05 – School Years 8 + 9 – Maximum number of events = 3 (U15 cannot compete in 800m and 1500m on the same day)

U17 Men + U17 Women – Must be born on or between 01.09.01 to 31.08.03 – School Years 10 + 11 – Maximum number of events = 3

U20 Men + U20 Women -Must be born on or between 01.01.99 to 31.08.01 – School Years 12, 13 & 14 if DOB after 31.12.98 – Maximum number of events = 5

Senior Men & Women   must be born on or before 31.12.98

THIS IS A CLOSED CHAMPIONSHIP FOR WEST WALES ATHLETES ONLY IN THE U13, U15 & U17 AGE GROUPS (except walks):
Athletes must have one of the following qualifications:
A: – Birth; the athlete having been born in West Wales (Dyfed or West Glamorgan).
B: – Residence; a minimum of 9 months continuous residence in West Wales immediately prior to this event.
C: – By attendance at a school, college or university in the Region.
NOTE: THE U20 AND SENIOR EVENTS ARE OPEN TO ANYONE, HOWEVER NON WEST WALES ATHLETES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY MEDALS.

Provisional Timetable

An athlete who has competed in a Regional Championship or represented a Region in an inter-regional event may not compete in the championships of, nor represent another region, in the same year of competition.

AWARDS: Medals to the top 3 in each event and age group (Excluding U20 & Senior Open Athletes)
VESTS: Athletes must wear either their club, school, regional or National vest.
ENTRY FEES: £3.50 per event.
CLOSING DATE: Wednesday 2nd May 2018 or if total event capacity of 400 athletes is reached first.
LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED & STRICTLY NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY

The South & East Wales Regional Championships for 1000m Walks will be incorporated into the West Wales Championships. The West Wales Championships for Steeplechase will be incorporated into the South & East Wales Championships held at Cardiff on Saturday 12th May with a closing date of 12pm Thursday 26th April

Senior athletes who win their respective regional events will have FREE entry in the senior championships in July in that event.

U20 athletes who win their respective regional events will also have FREE entry into the U20 championships in June in that event.
